Comment Windows 7  x64 works good on my computer So Far
Windows 7 x64 runs most of my 32 bit programs. That's what I really like about Windows 7 x64. It seems to be more responsive. My Lexmark 5495 works just fine using the Lexmark CD with the Vista drivers except the first time I went to print the Lexmark status box that tells you the status of the ink levels closed all of the sudden but still was able to print and windows gave me a message that said this program will be set to compatibility mode. When I went to print again the status box did not close and printed just fine no errors. My Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 ver 2.6 gave blue screens when I used the Intelemouse driver from the CD that my mouse came with on Windows 7 x86 because I've tested Windows 7 32 bit. So this Windows 7 I'm using Generic mouse Drivers that windows installed my default. When I installed my current Trend Micro Internet Security 2009 I gave all sorts of trouble like blue screens slow downs. This was on the Windows 7 32 bit. So This one Windows 764 bit I looked to see if Trend Micro had a test version of their Internet Security for Windows 7 and they did and it working fine so far on Windows 7 x64 that I am currently evaluating. When the test version of Internet security expires less than thirty days from now. I will put Vista Home Premium SP1 x68 back on this computer. My thoughts of Windows 7 x64 looks promising performance wise. It even out performed Windows 7 x86. I noticed that Windows 7 x86 lags in performance in certain ways like Vista does in terms of how it response. Thats my opinion but yours could be different it all depends on your computers configuration.
